I am grateful to Frank Phillipson who has sent me an extract from the 1949 Metropolitan Line timetable.

![]() Courtesy of Frank Phillipson Note the services from North of Aylesbury were not that frequent, indeed compared to todays service over all there appear to be fewer trains. Also note some of the services from Aylesbury, to Paddington via Beaconsfield and to Paddington via Wycombe and Maidenhead, this would have used the line from high Wycombe via Loudwater which was closed in 1969, but was in fact the first railway line to High Wycombe. |
